Short Course – This race circumnavigates Keats Island. This is a mixed event (max 3 men) w/ Junior, Open and 50+ categories. Race time is approximately 70 minutes on a 8.7 mile/14 km course. This race runs first thing Saturday morning. Water conditions in the early morning are usually calm and the race course is a favorite for any team wishing a shorter alternative to the iron course. Junior teams who have paddled this course in prior years have registered times within our estimate, and stand very well amongst our field of competitors. However, if the Junior coaches from all participating teams wish for a modified/shorter race course, a request must be addressed to the Race director one month prior to the race day.

Long Course - Starts and FINISHES at Amours Beach NORTH of the Gibsons Wharf, East outside of the Harbour lighthouse, then North to Secret Beach, around Buoy marker, downwind South, past Preston Island, and northwest around Keats Island towards back to Amours Beach. Follow coast line east back to finish line at Amours Beach. (approx. 23 km).

NOTE: Mixed Open will race in Race 3 with Men, all other MIXED Categories are Race 2 with Women.

We reserve the right to alter a course or cancel this race due to unsafe paddling/weather conditions at any point before and during the race event.
